Additionally, our office is one of only a few that is able to perform the entire implant process from start to finish and uses a 3D Cat Scan generated surgical guide, 99% of other offices do not use this technology, or are not able to perform all necessary steps in one location. This ensures our dentist provides meticulous care in one convenient location with great precision to every patient, regardless of the procedure performed.

Our Approach

This approach is especially important for involved procedures like dental implants to replace missing teeth. As one of the most frequently performed procedures in our practice, we understand that the success of a dental implant procedure depends greatly on the skill level of the dentist, Dr. Kimmelman has been placing dental implants since 2005, so he has over 16 years of experience; however, to further ensure the best outcome for every implant our dentist places, we use a state-of-the-art 3D Cat Scan to create a surgical guide for precision placement.

With a single scan that is painless, takes only minutes to perform, and is just as safe as traditional x-rays, Dr. Kimmelman can see the most accurate depiction of a patient’s bone structure. With this comprehensive view, common issues that can arise with implants are avoided. For example, in the early days of dental implants, the best technology available was the 2D x-ray, so dentists had to rely on a great deal of guesswork when it came to implant placement. That uncertainty meant that an implant could be placed damaging the nerve of the lower jaw, unplanned in the sinus cavity or an area of the jaw with moderate bone loss, which isn’t ideal.

With the detailed images made possible by our 3D Cat Scan, Dr. Kimmelman can determine whether a patient is a good candidate for dental implants, and he is able to thoroughly assess the bone in the area where he plans to place the implant. He first virtually places the implant on the CatScan in the ideal position, making sure the spacing and levelness are ideal as possible. Then the surgical guide is created to hold his drill in the exact place he planned. Using technology to ensure optimal implant placement means the risk of complications is dramatically minimized and he is able to use a much less invasive method to place the implant.
