Nation's Leading Chiropractic Doctors Speak Out

With the COVID-19 pandemic continuing to evolve, many industries will see a shift in what was once considered the norm. Leaders in every field are moving with diligence to ensure the best interest and protection of their business, employees, and clients. With the dust just beginning to settle, it’s crucial to get an adept understanding of the business and economic implications resulting from the coronavirus.

Millions across the country benefit from the care of skilled chiropractors. For many, simple tasks such as even getting out of bed in the morning rely on these dedicated modern healers. Like many health care providers, chiropractors are dealing with how best to serve their patients while still adhering to social distancing guidelines. Through Public Relations, some of the nation’s most decorated and chiropractic doctors weigh in on their experiences thus far dealing with the ramifications of this crisis that is impacting life as we know it.

  1. Dr. Jay Greenstein, a nationally renowned doctor of chiropractic physiotherapy, is currently practicing out of Kaizo Health Group - a four division, world-class, evidence-based multi-location chiropractic rehab practice, wellness/fitness company, non-profit clinical research institute, and technology company, “focusing leveraging clinician experience, patient values, and the best available scientific knowledge to deliver care to our patients who suffer from a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.” According to Dr. Greenstein, patient volume is deflated due to COVID but is still optimistic about healing his patients. “Our business volume has been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Patient volume is down 80% and we have permanently closed one of our offices. While we have grown our telehealth business, and that can be done remotely by both provider and patient, it does not make up for lost patient volume due to statewide closures in our region. However, my team has the right mindset, and we are not letting a good crisis go to waste!” Despite having to make changes due to coronavirus, Dr. Greenstein and Kaizo Health Group still remain true to their cause. “We are using this pandemic to truly Rethink, Rebuild, Restart© our company. In addition to telehealth, we are providing online personal training, creating content for social media around working from home, and using our custom-built practice app, Kanvas, to deliver health and wellness content to our patients. We have focused our attention on ensuring patients have physical health, nutritional health and mental health content and engagement to maximize their well-being and strengthen their immunity. Operationally, many of our roles were already remote, and yet still, we have found ways to Rethink our job roles to create maximal efficiency for our day to day operations.”
  1. Dr. Annalee Kitay, D.C. founder of Alternatives In Healthcare, is a certified practitioner of neural organization technique, as well as a nationwide frontrunner in holistic medicine. Dr. Kitay states that at first patients were hesitant to come in, but after assuring them of a cleanly facility, as well as a needed healing session, clients resumed seeking treatment. “My business was closed at first because people were afraid to come out but then when I reassured them that they were coming in to have their immune system boosted and reminding them of my practices many came in although there are some people that were still in fear by what harm they believed was out there.” Dr. Kitay also stated that she’s noticing lowered health levels due to stresses of this crisis. “I am finding that 8 out of 10 patients that come in have compromised immune system’s because of the scare that this threat has put on them.” Her practice is all the more needed with these added stress levels. “The protocol that I use helps the brain to organize the different systems in the body including the immune system. It works on people that have had anything from Compromised immune functions, digestive disorders, concussions, brain injuries, neurological & musculoskeletal injuries & more.”
  1. Dr. Alden Clendenin, founder of multi facility collective The Chicago Chiropractic & Sports Injury Centers, is a staple in the windy city for focusing on multiple aspects of health, such as biomechanical, neurologic, and wellness. Dr. Clendenin says that his offices have remained open due to his zeal of caring for his patients. “We have remained open in an effort to help our patients boost their immune strength to help flatten the curve.  We are still treating knees, shoulders, necks and backs but have added much more detail on Acupuncture, Naturopathy and Lymphatic Pumping.” Chicago having a spike in the virus has somewhat halted potential patients coming in, according to Dr. Clendenin. “Many people are hesitant to come into the City during the pandemic so as a result, less people are receiving care.”
  1. Dr. Tommy Rhee, founder of Physical Chiropractic of Tampa Bay, is one of the most sought after healers in the Tampa area and beyond. Dr. Rhee was appointed team chiropractor of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2015-2018, with a long list of further accomplishments. Dr. Rhee records a drop in patients since COVID. “It (his practice) was closed for 3 weeks and re-opened for half days. Our revenue was decreased by 45%.” Scheduling is the main thing affected thus far in Dr Rhee’s practice. “We have less hours. We are open in afternoons.”
  1. Dr. Richard Rosado, founder of New Leaf Chiropractic, utilizes state-of-the-art technology, along with the most cutting-edge chiropractic techniques to provide his patients with a natural, drug-free approach to health issues. Dr. Rosado states that his facility remained open, but there was a drop in patients initially. “We remained opened and saw about a 30% decrease in the first 2 weeks in patient visits but are now back to normal.” Rosado and his treatment team have taken the proper precautions to ensure a sanitary treatment in his practice. “We hired a team member to sanitize the treatment areas between each adjustment.”

In just a matter of weeks, the state of globalization and business has been altered drastically for everyone. These are unprecedented times that will test the ability of many to adapt and remain resilient. As we each develop and execute our own plans for the future, it’s all the more necessary that we look to our nation’s greatest business owners, community leaders, and it elects for guidance to voice on what lies ahead. In the heat of a crisis, one thing is for certain - after hearing these testimonies from some of the nation’s top doctors and chiropractors, we should never doubt the ability of the American people to come together and rise ahead with the proper knowledge, courage, and perseverance.
