Finalists for the 2020 Small Business of the Year Award

Pickett, Ray & Silver is one of the three local businesses who are finalists to receive the 2020 Small Business of the Year Award by the Greater St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce.

The Greater St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the three local businesses that have been selected as finalists for the 2020 Small Business of the Year Award.

The Small Business of the Year Selection Committee, consisting of past recipients of the award, has narrowed the nominated businesses down to three finalists:

  1. Good News Brewing Company
  2. Pickett Ray & Silver
  3. Renaissance Plastic Surgery & R Medical Spa

The winner will be announced at the 2020 Greater St. Charles County Small Business of the Year and the City of St. Charles Employers of the Year Awards Luncheon. Currently, due to the COVID-19 situation the actual date of the awards luncheon is not set. Updates on the event will be posted on the Chamber's website.

Pickett, Ray & Silver is very thankful for the nomination, especially with all the other deserving businesses in the area. As Julie Bartch, owner and Chief Executive Officer puts it,

Criteria for the Small Business of the Year Award

In order to be nominated for this prestigious award, businesses must meet the following criteria: 

  • Member in good standing with the Greater St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce
  • Must have less than 50 employees
  • Must have been in business at least since January 1 of 2018

Once nominated, each business is then sent an application to be completed. This application will be scored by a panel of judges which are compromised of past award recipients. The application is quite extensive and requires the applicant to:

  • Discuss how and why they started their business
  • Describe how they have overcome difficult times
  • Provide details on how they have grown
  • Demonstrate how they contribute to their community

About the Greater St. Charles Chamber of Commerce

In December 2011, the memberships of both the St. Peters and St. Charles Chambers of Commerce voted to merge the two organizations. In March 2012, we officially became the Greater St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce (GSCCC).

Serving as volunteers, 17 Board of Directors set the policies for the Chamber. The Mayors or representatives form the Cities of St. Charles and St. Peters, a representative of St. Charles County Government, and the President & CEO all serve as non-voting, ex-officio board members.

The GSCCC mission is to advocate for the business community by developing opportunities and partnerships that strengthen the economic prosperity and sustainability of the region. ​
