Dr. Alford brings over 35 years of experience and has an extensive background in providing neuropsychological evaluations, as well as implementing innovative and effective neurotherapies such as neurofeedback and non-invasive neuro-stimulation techniques.

Using the advanced technology of neurofeedback and neuro-stimulation with traditional talk therapy provides more powerful and targeted treatment plans for clients,” explained Alford.

With regards to formal education and experience, Dr. Alford graduated from Loyola University of Chicago with his Ph.D. in Psychology, completed a clinical internship at Hines V.A. Hospital in Maywood, with rotations in neuropsychology, spinal cord injury, pain management, and outpatient psychological services. He has post-doctoral training, certifications, and experience in neuropsychology, neurofeedback, and various neurotherapies, as well as cognitive therapy methods. His experience runs from working in large psychiatric hospitals, to busy psychiatric and mental health group practices, as well as numerous consulting and training of other professionals. When asked why he decided to join Fox Valley Institute, Alford replied “One word, innovation.”
