Her family is not surprised at all by her recognition of this award because Ciera has always been an excellent student and has no problem taking the initiative to help a fellow classmate or even getting in front of an auditorium full of 200 people to do a presentation. Her father Paul recalled, "I remember Ciera at 11 years old auditioning for a South Florida National American Miss Florida Pre-Teen Pageant. She had never done anything like that, nor was I crazy about it to tell you the truth. She had to do a live introduction, recite a commercial that was memorized in 20 minutes, sit through five personal interviews, and then complete the gown presentation which she really nailed while I was biting mine. Out of 85 other smart and beautiful young girls there, Ciera won the prestigious award of being named Miss Florida Pre-Teen.”

About the Congress of Future Medical Leaders

We believe it is unacceptable that so many of America’s highest potential students never fulfill their dream of entering the medical profession because they lack resources, direction, self-confidence or guidance. This is especially dangerous at a time when our country desperately needs more physicians and medical scientists.

The Congress of Future Medical Leaders was created by the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists to help solve this problem by gathering many of the country’s finest high school students who aspire to careers in medicine and singling them out for special recognition and ongoing mentorship.

National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical ScientistsA large number of places in the Congress have been reserved for students on academic scholarships. Many students will be selected for full academic scholarships by their teachers or guidance counselors for leadership ability, academic achievement, and dedication to the profession of medicine. In addition, a limited number of partial scholarships are also available based primarily on financial need.

During the Congress, students will view surgery and have an opportunity to submit questions for the surgeon to answer in real time during the procedure.

They will learn about state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and be inspired by world-changing researchers, futurists, and technologists.

They will feel the transformative energy of being surrounded by other young stars just like them: America’s best and brightest – the future of medicine.

They will make long-term friendships with those who share their dreams and passion – other young people who want to make a difference in the world and devote their future to saving lives and being part of the exponential advances in medicine that never before could have been imagined.

The theme of the Congress is “Greatness Awaits,” and Delegates will be mentored by some of the greatest living minds in medicine– men and women who are leading humanity into the 21st century of medical miracles.

Luminaries of the medical field will be inspiring the young people as will leaders of the profession from government and the public sector.

Speakers will include Nobel Prize Laureates, top medical school deans, leaders in medical research and cutting-edge technology, and leaders from private industry.

At the close of the Congress, Delegates will participate in a formal candlelit ceremony where they will be awarded the Congress of Future Medical Leaders Award of Excellence.
