Visit Oregon Releases New Guide on Relocating to The Beaver State

Seaside, United States - August 22, 2019 / Visit Oregon /

The state of Oregon is rapidly becoming one of the most sought after states to relocate to - and for good reason. Oregon's population grew considerably between 2017 and 2018 but, according to Willamette Week, over 88% of that increase was due to people migrating from other states.  By 2019 Oregon's natural population growth (number of births minus number of deaths) had hit a 58-year low. While many people choose to relocate to the popular urban Portland area, there are many reasons why someone would want to move to Oregon. Visit Oregon recently released an all-new guide on reasons why out-of-staters should consider moving to the beaver state.

Visit Oregon, a travel resource for all things Oregon, is excited to release its brand new all-in-one guide on why more people should consider relocating to the great state. When talking about the state, Visit Oregon says “The State of Oregon is home to some of the most diverse landscapes and scenic views in the lower 48 states.” If you’ve ever been to Oregon, you may have noticed their lush green forests, an abundance of trees, or diverse climate amongst other things. Bordered by the mighty Pacific Ocean to the West, and extensive desert and mountains to the East, Oregon has extremely diverse geography and climate to match. When compared to other states in the U.S., Oregon really is one of a kind.

Aside from the fact that almost half of the state is covered in lush, green forest, Oregon is one of the greenest states in terms of being environmentally friendly. The state has taken huge steps to enforce recycling, increase energy efficiency and protect its natural resources and leads the way in green energy efforts. The city of Portland has also been named one of the “greenest” cities in the entire world. That's right, not just in the United States, but the world! While Portland is one of the most expensive cities to live in, and the state overall is known for high real estate prices, the job market poses opportunities from anyone in the tech industry, to the coffee or restaurant industry. Do you own a pair of Nikes? Nike calls Beaverton, Oregon home and employs thousands of Oregonians annually. No matter your industry, there's a place for you in Oregon.

While there are pros and cons of moving to any state, we think that Oregon is pretty great. Real Estate is high but the opportunity is endless across the beaver state. So, if you're looking to relocate and diverse landscapes, green energy, great coffee and craft beverage, no sales tax or an abundance of forests sounds appealing to you, Oregon just might be the state for you.
