Our team at Advanced Endodontics of Buffalo knows that informed patients are the ones who are most likely to enjoy the best outcome from any surgical procedure. We believe in putting our patient’s needs first, and one of the ways that we do that is by providing them with the best endodontist in the area. Dr. Hatim Hamad understands that having oral surgery is not on the top of everyone’s favorite things to-do list. This is why he makes every effort to be sure that the procedures he performs are a success.

When he opened our practice, Dr. Hamad installed the most technologically advanced equipment possible to aid in the diagnosis of oral health conditions. During your initial consultation, he uses technology such as an extraoral imaging system that captures 3D images of your teeth. This allows him to get the most realistic view of your teeth and their roots so that your diagnosis is accurate. He will also use these images to guide him during the surgery so that every move he makes is precise and as minimally invasive as possible.

In many cases, a non-surgical root canal is the best first option to restore an infected or injured tooth back to health. However, this does not always work. Root canal treatments sometimes fail due to issues such as a missed canal or a blockage that makes it difficult to fully clear out the infection. If you have a failing root canal, then you may experience similar pain, swelling, and discomfort as you did before you had the procedure done. Our highly technological imaging systems help to prevent these issues from occurring, and we frequently see patients at Advanced Endodontics of Buffalo who come to us after a failed root canal from another clinic.

Endodontic microsurgery involves making an incision in your gums to access the root. During your apicoectomy, our endodontist then removes the infected part of your root and places a seal over it. The entire process takes only a short period of time, and we offer several options for pain relief and comfort. Once endodontic microsurgery is performed by our experienced endodontist, a tooth can potentially last a lifetime without causing you any more problems.

Dr. Hatim Hamad brings an impressive background to our clinic that is filled with a combination of advanced education and experience. He graduated with his D.D.S from the State University at Buffalo School of Dentistry. He also spent three years at the Great Lakes Training Facility Endodontic Department. Since earning his Certificate of Endodontics from the Naval Postgraduate Dental School, he has moved on to serving as the Endodontics Department Head at Groton Submarine Base. In addition to his service at our clinic, he uses his advanced skills to teach part-time as a clinical associate professor for the endodontic department at his alma mater.

When it comes to any oral surgical procedure, you need to know that you are working with an oral surgeon that you can trust. We take pride in being able to say that Dr. Hamad’s precision and dedication to patient care is what gives us the ability to provide high success rates for microsurgical procedures to our patients. We look forward to helping you preserve your tooth and get back to enjoying a healthy smile.
